More about Palm Coast
Right in the center of Flagler County is the municipality of Palm Coast. While it has a population that is quickly growing past the75,000 mark, it doesn’t seem like it. There is beautiful landscaping, parks and flowing water through out the city. Down town is just 3 miles from our mostly preserved and secluded beaches. The Intracoastal Waterway runs through the eastern side of the city.
For those who enjoy a good round of golf, Flagler County has a number of championship golf courses most of which allow day play. Ocean Hammock is the preeminent resort course in the area. Its’ sister course, The Conservatory at Hammock Beach, is the site of the Ginn Championship. Some of the other courses in the city, that were built during the ITT development time are, the Matanzas, the Pine and Cypress Knoll courses. Designers of these courses are some of the premier designers in golf. Names like Jack Nicklaus, Rees Jones, Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.
For those that prefer more natural pursuits like hunting, fishing and kayaking, there are some of the most pristine waterways in the state. Also there are large swaths of undisturbed land that offer ample habitat for wild animals, something that has become rare in much of the state.
So whether you decide to stop for a day or make Palm Coast your home, I think you’ll find Palm Coast a comfortable place to raise a family, retire or just enjoy the laid-back leisure lifestyle you’ve always craved.
