Bunnell - a sleepy haven of only 1,500 people

City of BunnellThe seat of Flagler County Florida is the tiny city of Bunnell, a sleepy haven of only 1,500 people.

Incorporated in 1913, Bunnell is the oldest city in the county and its fairs and annual rodeo strive to present the city's history in a fun and educational manner.

The enormous growth of Flagler County has awakened this town to new opportunties. Bunnell has moved forward with the annexation of 36,989 acres of neighboring property into the Bunnell City limits.

Furthermore, new shopping centers and recreation facilities are being developed.

Bunnell calls itself "The Crossroads of Flagler County" because major highways intersect at the center of downtown Bunnell. It was once the centerpiece of Flagler County with the first rail spur in the area in 1885 serving a cypress shingle mill.

The County government operates out of this town which is also the hub of activities for the western population of Flagler County.
